This page explains how eGourd is — and is not — paid, so you know what is behind a recommendation.
Where we stand today
As of the date above, eGourd carries no advertising, no sponsored articles and no affiliate links. Nobody pays us to be included, ranked higher, or described favourably. Every restaurant, route and place mentioned on the site was chosen because we went there.
If that changes
Travel publications commonly earn a commission when a reader books accommodation or transport through a link. We may do the same in future. If we do, two things will be true:
- Any article containing affiliate links will say so clearly at the top, before the content — not in small print at the bottom.
- A commission will never buy a place on the site or change what we say about it. If somewhere is not worth the trip, we will say that, link or no link.
This page will be updated on the same day any such arrangement begins.
Meals, stays and invitations
We pay our own way. If we ever accept a complimentary meal, room or ticket, the article covering it will state that plainly, and accepting it will not come with any agreement about what we write.
